Who Is the Play Guide For?

When ETP first started brainstorming, we knew we wanted to create a structured at-home play guide to support and empower parents.

  1. As speech therapists, the ability to use the professional strategies we’ve learned with our own kids comes natural to us. We recognize it doesn’t come easy for other parents.

  2. During therapy sessions, we offer play activities for parents to try at home, helpful tips to increase communication, and encouragement to leave the parent feeling good about their next steps. Why isn’t this accessible to every parent?

There wasn’t a guide online or in any store. We couldn’t find a streamlined, straightforward, resource telling you WHAT to play or HOW to play. (Spoiler alert, you’ll only find more toys, more toy subscriptions, and more research showing the benefits of play.)

It’s one thing to play with a toy. It’s another to communicate and use language while playing.

Our mission is to help you make the most of playtime.

And so, who are we for? Who are we not for? What’s our end goal with this? We’ve worked together to get clarity. We aren’t for everyone, but when it comes to nurturing language development, we do hope you find what you’re looking for. We hope you take a chance and invest in life the of your child through play, no matter if that’s with us or someone else.

Just like our website says, we believe play increases learning, language, and life skills. We believe that with just one play at a time, you have to power to unlock your child’s potential. And if you haven’t experienced that yet, we’d love to support you!

So who is this play guide for?

The one who needs a game plan for play time.

Parents who may not know how to engage with their toddlers in a way that promotes learning will find our guide invaluable. It provides clear activity prompts, word modeling suggestions, and a structured 5-step play method that removes the guesswork and encourages productive interactions. Finally! You can get guidance for effective play.

The one who wants to nuture language development.

Toddlers are at a critical stage of language development, and engaging in purposeful play can significantly boost their vocabulary, speech, and communication skills. The play guide equips parents with the tools and activities to stimulate language growth effectively. It’s more simple and doable than you think!

The one who wants to maximize limited time.

Life is full of work, household responsibilities, relationships, and other commitments. Our hands and schedules are full. (We hope your hearts are too!) We understand and you’re not alone. Our play guide offers practical and time-efficient strategies that allow parents to make the most of their limited time. We ensure that even short play sessions are meaningful and educational. We love encouraging you to make the most of the time (and toys) you have.

The one who wants to take a proactive approach to learning.

The difference between a good developmental toy and a GREAT play session is YOU. Parents who value early childhood education and recognize its long-term benefits will appreciate the play guide's proactive approach to learning. Let’s be honest, the play guide only works if you do. 🙂

THE ONE WHO WANTS TO Build a Stronger Parent-Child Bond.

Simply put, a secure and loving parent-child bond is essential for a child's emotional well-being and overall development. Our guide focuses on using play as a means to strengthen this bond. We believe you can make a real difference in your child’s language development.

The one who needs a boost of confidence.

As parents, we’re all doing the best we can, the best we know how. The Play Guide empowers parents by giving them the tools and knowledge they need to actively contribute to their child's development. With just one play at a time, it instills confidence in parents who may have felt unsure about their role in their toddler's learning journey. If you’re not sure about what to play or what to say, we’ve got you and we’ve sprinkled encouragement along the way!
