Meet the Speech-Language Pathologists (and Moms) behind

ELEVATE TODDLER PLAY

HI! We’re Brooke and Christin.

We make play MEANINGFUL.

Brooke Wiegand co-founded ETP to help encourage a new generation of parents. She has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in pediatric therapy for 10 years. She is also a Certified Professional Life Coach and enjoys coming alongside others to develop practical action plans for moving forward. Brooke graduated from the University of Central Florida and currently lives in Destin, Florida with her husband and two little girls.

The inspiration behind Elevate Toddler Play, Christin Lorio-Hencke has been passionately serving children for over a decade as a Speech-Langauge Pathologist. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and is a PROMPT© Certified and a NLA trained clinician. Christin is a military spouse and enjoys finding a new adventure at each duty station with her husband and two children.

HEre for you. Here for your littles.

As SLPs, it’s natural for us to utilize many of the techniques we’ve learned and use during therapy with our own children at home. At the same time, we recognize that teaching language through play does not come naturally to everyone. During sessions, we model play and language to parents + verbally give them strategies to implement at home.

Together we’ve worked to bring our signature play guide to life. We want to make these strategies easily accessible to anyone wanting to help their child develop language skills through play at home.

We hope to empower caregivers with The tools to make play-based learning fun, practical, and productive.

We’re here to help you. Check out our easy-to-use play guides to practice your play skills and develop your child’s understanding and use of words.

Here’s to good play days and a good life of meaningful moments.

FREQUENtlY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The Play By Play Guide was created to help proactive parents increase their child’s language and communication skills through play.

This accessible 79-page PDF includes over 50+ play prompt options, clinical expertise, and interactive worksheets designed to help you start, play, track progress, and apply foundational concepts with your little one.

  • This resource is not intended to provide therapy or be a replacement for any therapeutic involvement.

While the guide providing instruction is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in their respective state, they are not providing therapy in this guide.

By purchasing the Play By Play Guide, you are agreeing that no therapist/client relationship is being formed between you and the guide providing instruction or between you and Elevate Toddler Play.

  • Parents of toddlers ages 1-5.

The ETP Guides are for anyone who wants to be proactive in increasing their toddler’s language and communication skills.

Playing with our children and creating a series of meaningful interactions doesn’t have to be a chore. Many parents don’t know what to play or what to say and they’re limited on time. As a result, play is pushed to the side and we’re left with a hope they get what they need along the way. Research continues to show that play and language skills are interconnected.

You can’t afford to wait any longer. It’s time to start understanding what vocabulary and concepts to teach your child so they can communicate effectively. As parents, we have the power to unlock their potential.

  • Farm, bubbles, blocks, house, vehicles, ball, dolls/stuffed animals, nesting + stacking, food + kitchen, and musical instruments.

We encourage you to use what you already own! At the same time, we offer a list of open-ended toys we personally use during therapy sessions and highly recommend to parents.

Get ready to learn practical ways you can play with new toys and extend the life of "old" ones!

  • We don’t. If you’re still wondering how our play guides might enhance your child’s language and communication skills, the question isn’t, “Am I going to use everything in this guide?” (Because there is a lot.) The question is: Am I going to use it enough that makes it worth the money? The guide won’t work if you don’t. 🙂
